Car News and Rumors: Is the Price of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Facing an Increase?

The price of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible will increase as per the report of the General Motors. The price of LT1 I-4, the cheapest version of the convertible with 275hp (279PS) and 295lb-ft (340Nm) of torque starts from $33,695. The price for the 2LT I-4 version, which is equipped with the same engine, is set at $37,795.

The prices of 1Lt and 2LT V6 versions, with 335 hp (340PS) and 284lb-ft (38Nm) of torque starts from $35,190 and $39,290, respectively, while the price of 1SS V8, with 455 hp (462PS) and 455lb-ft (617Nm) of torque is set at $44,295 for future customers. The top version of the drop-top Camaro, the 2SS V8, is reported to cost around $49,295, as reported by Carscoops news.

All prices mentioned above include a destination charge of $995 and are based on the ordering guide, which means that General Motors still has to confirm all buyers.

The new Chevrolet Camaro Convertible is the answer to the new Ford Mustang Convertible that was officially unveiled earlier this year which is currently in its sixth generation. The new Camaro Convertible comes with a new electro-hydraulically operated cloth top with a multilayer construction. The roof is capable of opening and closing at speeds up to 30mph (48km/h) and can also be operated by the key fob.

It is confirmed by Chevrolet that its convertible version of the new Camaro will now be available for sale early next year, as well as the new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder option.

According to the Motor Authority news, the Camaro Convertible 1LT is the least expensive drop-top equipped with the four-cylinder and the price starts at $33,695. The price was increased by $1,495 on the price of the 2015 Camaro Convertible, which came with a V-6 engine. The more expensive 2016 Camaro Convertible which is equipped with the same V-6 engine starts at $35,190 or $2,990 higher as compared to last year.

If you prefer it with V-8 power, be prepared to pay $44,295 for the Camaro 1SS Convertible, or $3,795 higher than last year.
