There have been reports suggesting that the "Spice Girls" might be reuniting for their 20th anniversary.
Melanie Janine Brown or otherwise known as Mel B or Scary Spice reportedly has hinted of the reunion. According to Mirror, the 40-year-old former "Spice Girls" member has said during an appearance in Alan Carr's New Year's Spectacular, "I think I'm the one putting all the rumors out there. To be serious, it is our 20th anniversary this year and it would be rude not to celebrate."
Mel B added, "So hopefully something will be happening pretty soon ... I can't tell you what it is yet."
Back in November, according to Billboard, Scary Spice has also revealed that there might be a Spice Girls tour in 2016. Speaking of which, she said, "Once we sort everything out we make an announcement, but right now we're just figuring it all out. Next year is your 20 anniversary so we're really just trying to make sure something happens."
The last time the "Spice Girls" reunited for a tour was way back 2007. While they had made appearances or performances together like in the closing ceremony for 2012 Summer Olympics. At the moment, there are no official announcements about any tour or reunion.
But it is not only Mel B who has recently hinted that a reunion is possible. Very recently another former "Spice Girls" member, Geri Halliwell also known as "Ginger Spice," has posted via Instagram a throwback photo of the famous group. The photo was captioned, "Awh , we look back on old friends and think Awh , and wish them all just healthy happy holidays."
In another news, Mel C or Sporty Spice reportedly will refuse to join any reunion unless Posh Spice will join them. According to Perez Hilton, a source has told The Sun, "This means good management, good tour promoters and good sponsorship to maximize revenue. To fulfill this Mel believes the band has to be the original five-piece and Victoria needs to be involved"
Fan at the moment should pray that a reunion takes place in 2016. Moreover, all five former band members should be present because with one or two former members missing it would not be a real "Spice Girls" reunion.
