Which Sports Title is Deserving to be The Best Video Game of the Year

No year ends without anybody or anything being recognized for something. For 2015, which title is the best sports video game?

As previously reported, while "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" won the title for the Video Game of the Year at the 2015 Game Awards "Rocket League" was recognized as the Best Sports/Racing Game among nominees "FIFA 16", "Forza Motorsport 6", "NBA 2K16" and "Pro Evolution Soccer 2016." "Rocket League" was also recognized as the Best Independent Game among other titles like "Axiom Verge", "Her Story", "Ori and the Blind Forest" and "Undertale. So what makes "Rocket League" stand out?

It gives the idea of soccer an exciting twist. According to Gazette Review, it combines bought elements of racing and elements of soccer. With this game, a player needs to control a rocket powered vehicle to hit a ball that is bigger than the cars. Of course, the goal is to have the ball and get a score at the opponent's field. This game became a major hit.

On the other hand, without "Rocket League", Best Sports Video Game would most likely go to "FIFA 16." According to Gazette Review, "FIFA 16" is inside the top five list of titles in terms of copies sold in most countries. Its contender is "Madden 16" which happens to be from the same publisher as "FIFA 16."

What about NBA 2K16 then? According to Polygon, no other sports title is doing better than the NBA 2K franchise. However, the NBA 2K series has yet to get its multiplayer right, and by then it should be worthy of being the best sports video game. For now, "Rocket League" is deserving of such award. For one, it's soccer and vehicle crossover concept is a massive hit and as a game it is highly watchable in streaming services.

"Rocket League" is available on platforms PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, Linux and Mac OS.
