Xiaomi Mi 5 has yet to be released, and there have been rumors circulating of its release schedule as well as its features.
In a recent update by Digital Trends, pictures of the awaited movile phone have leaked over social media. A weibo user allegedly posted the photos, and the pictures showed the gadget in 4 different colors: black, gold, white, and pink. What makes these 'leaked' images different from the ones released before is the home button, which looks like that of Samsung Galaxy phones. The once rumored 2.5D glass front panel could be observed from the photo.
Aside from the photos, another source allegedly released an unofficial video of Mi 5, which does not resemble the ones in the photos. The video showed the mobile device on a wooden dock, and it could be observed that the phone has a more rectangular shape rather than a little rounded like the previous images have shown.
Earlier this month, sources from GizmoChina and Weibo have teased tech fans of possible Xiami Mi 5 designs. The first one had a black border and a home button which allegedly would have a fingerprint sensor. Another one was posted on Weibo just a few days after. The supposed Mi 5 had a curved 2.5D glass front panel, and a home button like that resembles the one from the previous photo. A probably USB Type-C charger could also be noticed from the picture.
The device was rumored to be released this December, but this did not materialize. Now, there have been speculations that the exact date for Mi 5 to finally be unveiled will be on January 21, 2016. A theory is that the most awaited launch depends on the Qualcomm and its ability to finish Snapdragon 820 processor. According to an analyst, this is what the anticipated Xiaomi device is waiting for before it is made available in the market.
