Are fans finally going to see the Spice Girls come together again in 2016? Mel B. AKA Scary Spice recently hinted on the possible reunion for their 20th anniversary, but she points out that she might be the cause of all these rumors. She shares during her appearance in Alan Carr's New Year's Specstacular: "There's nothing to really spill because nothing has been announced, nothing's official. I mean, yes, we are in talks because it's our 20th anniversary. And I want something to happen. I'm forcing them a little bit, but yeah. I've been saying it for five years, 'We are reuniting. We are, aren't we?'"
Many fans have been waiting for them to come together again, especially when they reunited for the 2012 Olympics where they performed an epic medley of their hit songs. Ever since then, fans of the Spice Girls kept campaigning for more reunions -- and maybe this time, they'll finally get what they want! However, this 2016 reunion might be more complicated, as not all of the members are on-board with this much-awaited comeback.
Just before Christmas, Melanie C. AKA Sporty Spice said that she refuses to be part of the said reunion if Victoria Beckham AKA Posh Spice isn't part of it. Victoria Beckham, who has come a long way since her pop star days has been less than willing to take part of another reunion since she's extremely busy with her brand. An insider shares that "This means good management, good tour promoters and good sponsorship to maximize revenue. To fulfill this Mel believes the band has to be the original five-piece and Victoria needs to be involved."
Looks like fans of the Spice Girls will have to wait a little bit more for the 20th anniversary reunion! With or without reunion though, their two-decade anniversary will still be celebrated all throughout the world. After all, the Spice Girls will always remain iconic despite the years that have passed since the peak of their popularity.
