J.K Rowling, the famous "Harry Potter" author, may have mentioned earlier that headmaster Dumbledore was her favorite character. But who knew Hagrid's living space would attract her so much.
According to several news outlets, the best-selling author has been granted permission to build a hut on the premises of her Scotland home and she intends for it to be just like Hagrid's abode in the series.
Rowling will be building the hut at the edge of a forest - just like in the book - at her 162-acre estate in Perthshire. Rowling reportedly purchased the estate in 2001 for $1.28 million and even married her husband in the library of the house, The Independent reports.
Called the Killiechassie House, the residence sits on the banks of River Tay. The hut is slated to be a circular structure that will have a slate roof, a stone bench and an open front. The council has reportedly ordered no trees be damaged while building the structure.
Rowling has reportedly been building similar buildings on the estate. She also commissioned connected tree houses, built on wooden stilts, with balconies, spiral staircase and a trapdoor, the Telegraph reports.
Curbed notes that the phenomenon of having gypsy-style or smaller summer houses within the residence's premises has recently become a trend among the rich. The website cites a Wall Street Journal report on gypsy caravans that sheds light on why the rich are suddenly commissioning gypsy caravans at their opulent mansions.
"It's a piece of movable art," Tim Jasper, a U.K.-based garden wagon designer explained to the Journal.
While there is no intel on how much Rowling's Hagrid's hut would cost, we do know the value of Hogwarts - if it were real. The famed fictional school of witchcraft and wizardry, would most likely fetch around $204,102,000!
