Carl Paladino, a real estate developer from Buffalo, New York, has organized a statewide mission to make Donald Trump succeed in the New York presidential primary in April 19, a report from the New York Post said.
Paladino is said to be “using his network of supporters around the state and some of his own money” to organize the pro-Trump rally, a source said. Bill Nojay, a Paladino ally said. “Serious organizing activities are under way on behalf of Trump.’’ He also predicted that many prominent upstate Republicans will also be pitching in.
Trump’s supporters are reported to be creating the most organized primary campaign effort which will be incomparable with the supporters of other prominent candidates such as Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Ben Carson and Jeb Bush. It is said that New York will become the fourth-largest delegation at the GOP convention in Cleveland next July. If there should be no clear winner in the primaries, its 95 delegates could possibly decide the ultimate winner for the race.
Corey Lewandowski campaign manager told The Post that “Donald Trump is the only Republican candidate in the race that can win the state of New York in the general election.’’ A well-known GOP lawmaker said “Trump scares me, especially with some of the stuff he’s been doing lately.’’ This lawmaker once said that he would endorse Trump publicly and said he was doing so without much enthusiasm. “But Trump is the one guy you feel can hold his own against Russian President Vladimir Putin and the mullahs, can negotiate a good deal with the Chinese, and will make America competitive again. “When the ship is in peril, you only care about one thing: Who can get us through the storm?” he continued.
However most New York City-area GOP leaders, such as state Chairman Ed Cox, ex-Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino and former Gov. George Patak think Donald Trump’s candidacy would be a disaster, party insiders say if he continues his exceedingly idealistic and impractical ways.
