Cienfuegos, Cuba

Cuba's doors have ben opened wide and Americans and citizens from other nations have been heading to the country in flocks. The most popular destination is Havana where it is always in frenzy, followed by Trinidad. But you must prioritize Cienfuegos. Imagine dining by the water or walking around the town square. Best time to travel is November.

Ocean Park, Maine

Never miss the July 4th parade. The Free Will Baptists founded it in 1881 as a religious community and it still feels the same. It is a quiet town that is way too unique compared to its surroundings.

Saint-Francois, Guadeloupe

After two decades, there is now a lost cost and direct flight from Boston and the best time to go is right NOW. According to Boston Globe, "It's a less pretentious - and more affordable - version of its neighbor Saint-Barthélemy and it offers more options for enjoying the natural surroundings, such as a hike up a volcano." The lack of fancy accommodations may be putting travelers off but its beaches are to die for.

Milwaukee, Wis.

Visit on June or July and yes, there is a direct flight. The City of Festivals contends that it hosts the world's largest music festival, an 11-day event called Summerfest. Check out the art museum which also happens to be a work of art and think about the largest collections of Georgia O'Keeffe. Don't forget to have a stroll at the River Walk.

Bergen, Norway

No direct flight as yet but it is best to visit in July. There's the historic waterfront, a thriving music scene, and some very innovative cuisine. There is no reason not to go when you think about the steep, lush heels sorrounding the main harbor.

Angkor, Cambodia

Think ancient history that goes as far back as the 9th to the 15th century and just imagine the 250 mile Angkor Archaeological Park. The best place to dine and find a place to stay is Siem Reap. Visit in December or January but take note that there is not direct flight yet.

Savannah, Ga.

A charming place and a history lover's dream place to visit. If you want a balance of culture and cocktails, this is the place to be. Best time to visit is October and yes, direct flight is a bonus.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

The place where celebrities hang out, Cabo is a traditional surfer-heavy area where sleek hotels are emerging. No direct flight as yet and the bes time to go is February.

Berat, Albania

This is not for the faint hearted but definitely worth to visit in September even if there is no direct flight yet. If you will experience challenges along the way due to the road's terrible condition and erratic public transportation, just think about the stunning beaches along the Albanian Riviera to set the mood.

Nuuk, Greenland

Best time to visit is late July but without direct flights, it is a bit of a bummer. However, its short summer season reflects its natural beauty. The number of tourists has by far outnumbered its small population.
