‘Destiny: The Taken King’ DLC: Sparrow Racing League Features Speed Boosts and Obstacles, Ends On Dec. 29

Game developer Bungie has that it will roll out a Sparrow racing mode which is called the "Sparrow Racing League" to its popular video game "Destiny: The Taken King." The game's new racing mode will eventually end today, Dec. 29, a report from Gamespot said.

It can be recalled that the developer has released the game's Sparrow Racing League last Dec. 8 intended for players who purchased the video game.  The game's new racing mode has two custom tracks which feature both speed boosts and obstacles than can support six players. Players can also earn several rewards while playing the game. In fact, they can use a real world money to buy some items like the game's SRL Record Book.

"However, fans can expect Bungie to deliver more limited-time content of that nature in 2016, though no new offerings have been officially announced. When Sparrow Racing League ends on December 29, another event--Iron Banner--will begin. Among the rewards are new PlayStation-exclusive content," the report stated.

According to Polygon, the game's Sparrow Racing League event will allow players to race using their sparrow mount both for "reputation and rewards." It was said that players who have the game's expansion can actually join the racing event and they will encounter extra challenges and collect some goodies using real word money via microtransactions.

"The racing is simple. There are only two tracks, and on each players try to pass through a series of gates which give a short burst of speed. The gates change size depending on your position in the race. They are very wide for the last-place racer, but very narrow for the leader. The difference is enough to turn a stretch where a first place player must slalom through gates into a straightaway for somebody in fourth. The only racing mode is a multiplayer race for six players," the report added.
