'Final Fantasy XV' Director Talks About New Magic and the Role of Women in the Game

In the early demo footage and gameplay of "Final Fantasy XV," players were given a hint of what the game will look and feel once it is released in 2016. The character's journey will bring on a new feeling as refreshed set of battles and visuals were added to the classic "Final Fantasy" formula.

In an interview with the Examiner, "Final Fantasy XV" Game Director Hajime Tabata discussed the new kinds of magic players will be welcomed to, as well as the role of the women in the story. When he was asked what kinds of magic will be featured, he answered that there will be two types of magic and stated that "The first is a very generic magic system that is used by people around the world."

"The second one is a very specific discipline of magic, which is only allowed to be used by people within the Royal family itself," he continued.

Despite the lack of details on the second type and how it will affect the characters and the story, it is still interesting that it brings new ways of battling monsters.

Tabata then continued on and began explaining the role of the female characters. Though the story will not center on the women unlike the male character's journey, it is certain that it will have a major effect on both the story and the male characters. A number of female characters who are all powerful will come out on the enemy side.

"Final Fantasy XV" will also be featuring the mechanic Cid who keeps Notis' car running which according to Tabata makes the boy's journey possible.

The "Final Fantasy XV" release date is yet to be announced but Tabata has confirmed that it will be available for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One by 2016. Let us know what you think about this news.
