2016 Tokyo Auto Salon Update: Subaru will Unveil 3 New STI Concept Vehicles

During the 2016 Tokyo Auto Salon which will take place on Jan. 15 to 17, Subaru will unveil three new concept vehicles which include the "STI Performance Concept", "Levorg STI Concept" and "Subaru XV Hybrid STI Concept". These three concept cars were developed by Subaru Technica International (STI), performance division of Subaru.

STI Performance Concept is Subaru's first concept vehicle which aims to showcase STI's competence in delivering aftermarket parts. This vehicle is equipped with STI technologies and components which include the suspension systems and brake enhancements. The concept also has interior and exterior upgrades and also equipped with an STI-tuned EJ20 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo racing engine as reported by Ecumenical news.

The Levorg STI Concept is the second concept vehicle which comes with STI-designed 18-inch aluminum wheels and a sporty front fascia. The interior comes with red-wine and black two-tone colors and a WR Blue Pearl color for its exterior.

The Subaru XV Hybrid STI is the final concept vehicle which showcases the Subaru XV's casual and active nature. It comes with a Quarts White Silica exterior color with orange accents. The interiors feature orange and beige colors. This concept vehicle is set to provide customers a fun drive experience.

The special exhibition of the 2016 Tokyo Auto Salon with NAPAC (Japan Car Parts and Aftermarket Promotions Associations) will take place on January 15 to 17 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, as announced by Subaru Technica International Inc. and Fuji Heavy Industries.

The concept vehicles come with the well-known Subaru quality and XV's "casual and sporty spirit which altogether contribute to that aggressive, yet elegant character.

The Automobiles Review said the exhibition includes numerous STI technologies including STI suspension and brake systems, along with interior and exterior enhancements. To signify STI's commitment to motorsport, the concept vehicles embrace the STI-fine-tuned EJ20 horizontally-opposed 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo performance-oriented power unit which is currently used for the Super GT race in Japan.
