Erica Mena decided to call it quits and eventually left VH1's "Love and Hip-Hop." During an interview with VH1, Mena shared that the reality tv series isn't the same without her presence. This being said, she added that fans can attest to the fact that the show turned "boring without her."
"I wasn't sad to see the show go on without me, If anything it was boring, and I think the audience agrees that it's extremely boring without me."
In addition to what she told VH1, she also shared that the she was bullied all throughout the previous season, which urged her to film separately. She also explained her departure stating that she already closed a chapter in her life wherein she already let go of her past issues.
Mena also shared that she needs to defend herself after being the center of rumours and allegations. She even mentioned her co-stars Chrissy, Rich, and Cyn are making up stories about her wherein she eventually got fed up and decided to quit "Love and Hip-hop."
"I decided to film separately, because I honestly felt like throughout the whole season I was the main target, I was actually a moment for me to let off steam and be able to close that chapter of my life. You can't ever move on without the proper closure. I felt like especially because all of the false allegations and rumors that were made up about me throughout my whole last season, that it was my time to really retaliate."
She then added that despite leaving the show, people are still interested in her persona. Though she left the show with hanging questions, Mena stated that she does not owe anyone answers.
"This past year I've had time to get my life back in the sense where now my recent [relationship] status has everyone wondering 'Are they together? Are they not together? I feel like this relationship isn't on television, so I don't owe the world an answer, but it proves that people are interested in my life."
