Kristen Stewart became an instant hit thanks to "Twilight" in 2008; her role as Bella was the envy of all young girls everywhere. With her experience and her amazing claim to fame at a young age of 17, she would certainly be the most fitting to give newcomer Daisy Ridley some advice, a report from E! News said.
"I did Twilight when I was 17. It came out when I was 18 and my life was never even remotely the same," the actress said in an interview in The Hollywood Reporter's 'Awards Chatter' podcast.
As Kristen filmed the next four Twilight movies, the public's fascination for her increased along with people prying on her personal life. She said that the experience was "a huge lifestyle shift."
"A whole lot of other baggage -- really heavy and really cool baggage -- came along with it."
Daisy Ridley was basically unknown when she was cast as one of the stars of the latest "Star Wars" franchise installment. The 23-year-old actress seemed to be enjoying the attention and is at ease in the public eye.
Kristen hopes that the English actress could combine fame with continued grace, "Focus on the fact that you're stoked 'cause you're doing the work that you want to do." She adds, "It's literally mainly just about focusing on what makes you happy. And if losing your anonymity or whatever doesn't make you happy, then focus on something else."
Surely Ridley's role as Rey in the epic Star Wars movie will prepare her for more interesting roles as Twilight did for Kristen. The actress is in a new dark comedy movie "Clouds of Sils Maria" where she plays Val, an assistant to a movie star. She also recently won a Cesar Award (France's equivalent of an Oscar) for her role in an indie film by Olivier Assayas.
As somebody who's dealt with the more absurd, really surreal, oftentimes insanely superficial, empty circus of what the media can be--and perception versus reality--I thought it was really funny and appropriate for me to play that part. There was just nobody who could say those things with more knowing, and people know that," she said with a laugh. "I wanted those words in my mouth."
Stewart has been in show business for more than half her life but she confessed that it was just recently that she began to feel confident in her abilities. "I trust myself a little bit more. When I was a little bit younger, I used anxiety and nerves, which I still have a lot of. It's just that I'm better at channeling them. I get better every time I do a job," Stewart added, "It's getting more fun."
