"Supergirl" Season 1 episode 9 will see Maxwell Lord (Peter Facinelli) taking James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) as his hostage. In the trailer for "Blood Bonds," Kara (Melissa Benoist) found out that Hank Henshaw (David Harewood) and J'onn J'onzz are one and the same person.
During an interview with Collider, the "Glee" alum revealed how Kara reacted when she found out about Hank's true identity.
"It's so funny the way she reacts. I can't wait for you guys to see it. I don't want to tell you because it's really funny. It's a good thing; she's really happy about it," she said.
Meanwhile, the teaser for "Blood Bonds" also saw Cat (Calista Flockhart) telling Kara that she has always known she had a resemblance with Supergirl.
"Beyond shadow of a doubt, you are Supergirl," she said.
Kara will not immediately bust her cover to Cat, because according to the episode synopsis, she will continue to lie about her true identity.
"With Astra in captivity at the DEO, her husband, Non (Chris Vance), captures Hank, leading to a tense standoff between the two sides. Also, Kara continues to refute Cat's allegations that she is Supergirl," the synopsis reads.
In other news, "Blood Bonds" will also see Maxwell attacking James.
According to Design & Trend, "The most shocking tidbit from the promo, however, is the scene in which Maxwell Lord appears to be hitting James Olsen in the stomach with a wrench. It's unclear why Maxwell took Superman's best friend as a hostage, but the tease confirms that Maxwell is someone who couldn't be trusted."
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said, "For us, the best villains are the ones who aren't mustache-twirling, 'I want to kill everybody.' Max really believes he's out to protect the human race."
"Supergirl" Season 1 will return to CBS on Jan. 4, 2016 at 8 p.m. ET.
