It has been an awesome news when Microsoft included backwards compatibility for a few Xbox 360 games to the Xbox One. However, it's not exactly a perfect situation, because one of the most requested games for the compatibility came with a really bad frame rate. We are talking about "Halo: Reach" here.
According to an Xboxone thread, the game is pretty much "unplayable" on Xbox one, which is practically a very bold claim. However, this comment is not exactly contradictory to the other comments.
One user said that the frame rate goes down to around 10fps when multiple enemies are on the screen. And the only reason why the game could be described as 'playable' is because the game doesn't stutter, its speed just slows down. In a word, it's slow-mo. There's no freezing, the game keeps going, just in a slow speed.
Another user described the gaming experience as "not unplayable, but not great" and the overall experience is worse that on the 360. The low frame rate may not be very noticeable visually, but the controls seem overall sluggish.
Microsoft acknowledged the problem, saying that they are aware that "some users" are having problems with "Halo: Reach" on Xbox One Backward Compatibility, and the team is already in the process of checking on the issue and addressing it.
According to Kotaku's Kirk Hamilton, the game runs crusty when he tried to load it, although the word 'unplayable' may have been a bit of an exaggeration.
So regardless of whether the game is totally impossible to play or not, the only common reaction it has gotten from people is that there is a frame rate issue. And now that Microsoft has acknowledged the problem, let's just wait and see whether they can come up to a cure to this or not. As per Kotaku.com, Microsoft acknowledged the problem December 29, so we may have to wait a while before we get a solution to this.
