The couples in "Married At First Sight" are starting to get to know each other even better, especially now that they moved in together. A lot of the reality show's fans are in awe of David Norton. Unfortunately, that is not the case with his own wife, Ashley Doherty.
A video teaser shows the look on Ashley's face the moment she stepped in David's apartment, and it was really bad. And to make it worse, when David asked what she thinks about the place, there was a gap and then Ashley said, "We don't have anything nice to say at each other then we shouldn't say anything at all." Given that, it does not look good for the couple.
And now, in David's latest interview with The Knot, he had some revelations about his marriage with Ashley. David was asked how it was to be married with a total stranger and how he was able to remain positive all throughout the process.
David has this to say, "Going into this, I was mentally prepared for anything- including my wife not being attracted to me."
He added, "I appreciate everyone who has said that they find me very good looking, but everyone has a physical type and I just happen to not be Ashley's type. It's not her fault-it's just the way it is, sadly."
Norton admits that it is going to be a tough journey for him and Ashley. They may not be "in the same boat" when it comes to attraction but Norton is positive that in time things will fall into place for them.
David acknowledged the fact that "these matches by the experts are not guaranteed." As he said, "Chemistry is important, and there is no test for it. You either have it or you don't, and if you don't have it, you have to work for it because you were matched for a reason."
And for Ashley, she has been honest from the start that she is not attracted to Norton. Her initial reaction when she first saw him was, "Oooo, he's really tall!" She then said, "I thought my husband looked handsome on our wedding day but he had a different look than what I am typically attracted to."
However, Ashley also pointed out that she realized that they were matched for a reason and said "of course, there's a lot more to a person than looks."
"Married at First Sight" season 3 airs Tuesday nights, 10 p.m. on FYI.
