"The Young and The Restless" fans may have already forgotten Raul Gutierrez because it has been a long time since he was last seen on the show. But now, "Y&R" alum, David Lago who played the iconic role of Gutierrez gave a hint on the possibility that Gutierrez might return to Genoa City.
According to Soap Opera Spy, Raul's possible return is set to shake up the show's storyline. His departure in the show back in 2009 was quite explosive since it involved a falling out of friendship with his best pal, Billy Abbott.
It has been reported that Lago teased Soaps In Depth that he would love to reprise his role as Raul if the show permits. He thinks that it is a good idea if the opportunity is there and if it is also the right time.
To add more to the excitement of David's comeback to the show, he also shared that since he left in 2009, TPTB asked him several times if he was open to join the show again. It was just all questions since there were neither formal talks nor offer about it.
But there is a catch, The Emmy award-winning actor would love to come back to "The Young and The Restless" as a "changed man."
Back in 2009, Soaps She Knows reported that David was set to reprise his role on "Y&R." At that time his stay on the show was indefinite since there were no further details given about it.
Meanwhile, when Raul left Genoa City, Billy was mad at him because of his relationship with Mackenzie. David then explained that "Raul was all too perfect and never did anything wrong." And if he is given a chance to reprise his role, he wants to do it in a more challenging way, somewhat "rough around the edges."
David said that "It would be amazing if he came back having changed-he wouldn't have to be a bad guy, exactly, but maybe just not so Prince Charming."
"The Young and The Restless" fans should wait and see if Raul will really come back to Genoa City.
