Not everybody is aware that Activision developer Platinum Games released "Transformers: Devastation" back in October.
According to PlayStation Lifestyle, even if it had fairly positive reviews, the title did not have enough game modes and somehow the story had a simple plot. For those who were able to play "Transformers: Devastation," it is normal to wonder if there would ever be sequel or ask what the publisher might have in the pipeline.
According to Vice, when Activision Producer Robert Conkey was asked about the company's plans for "Transformers" games, he said that he was unable to talk about future plans but has admitted that the developers are pleased that "Transformers: Devastation" seems to have established a good reputation with its fan's base.
He also went on to say, "As for what we're doing on 'Transformers' games, going forward, we know that while 'Devastation' succeeded in a lot of aspects, it certainly wasn't perfect and there are a lot of areas where we received valuable feedback for improvement. It's never possible to make everyone happy, but we do take that feedback very seriously when planning for future titles."
In other news, "Transformers: Devastation" reportedly marks the start of the "Prime Wars Trilogy." In September, Eurogamer.net reported all Transformers media including video games, comics and toys will tell the same story in the next three or four years and "Transformers: Devastation" sets the stage for the saga.
According to Eurogamer.net, Activision said in a statement, "Activision's Transformers: Devastation console title presents a game specific prequel story that dovetails with the expanded Combiner War story arc told in the IDW comic book series. As the Transformers story and franchise continue to evolve, Activision will continue to collaborate closely with Hasbro in exploring where to take the Transformers video game franchise."
"Transformers: Devastation" is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC.
