'Captain America: Civil War' Rumors & Premiere Date: Death Of A Major Avengers Member To Be Expected?

Rumors are circulating that a major Avengers member might find his end in "Captain America: Civil War."

According to International Business Times, the YouTube channel "That Hashtag Show" speculated that the movie might begin with a funeral scene and will also end with a major death. This speculation was based on the leaked photos of the movie last July where it showed a funeral scene, and the trailer confirmed the deceased to be Agent Peggy Carter. The outlet said that with Peggy's death, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) will connect with Sharon Carter, who will then be the hero's new love interest.

Techno Buffalo reports that Captain America himself will be killed at the end of the movie. The site stated that "Steve will make a deal with the government, stating that they are not to hunt down the people that allied with him in the Civil War." They later explained that Steve will then surrender, and when he is taken into custody, he will be killed.

This story is said to be similar with the comic book "Fallen Son," where at Steve's funeral, Tony Stark will be broken, and the other heroes will blame him for Steve's death. However, in the comic books, although Steve is gone, Captain America will still live on as the Winter Soldier aka Sebastian Stan, and the Falcon will take his place as the new Captain America.

Marvel earlier stated that in "Captain America: Civil War," Steve will form a new team of Avengers, and he will lead them to protect humanity. However, an incident which involves the team will force the government to assign a body to oversee the team, and this will result in division of the team into two, one led by Steve and the other led by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.).

"Captain America: Civil War" is scheduled for release on May 6, 2016.
