NBA Rumors: New York Knicks to Replace Derek Fisher next Season with Luke Walton as Head Coach

The New York Knicks is not doing well with their campaign this season, as they continue to fall short with their performances every now and then. With the lack of consistency, the supposed contending team this season will surely miss its chance to qualify in the playoffs. As a result of this unlikely performance, players are now said to be doubting not just themselves, but their coach as well.

There are now rumors spreading in the Knicks locker room that the players are doubting the coaching capacity of Derek Fisher, the rumoured personally handpicked coach to be of Phil Jackson last year. According to Sir Charles In Charge, some of the players in the Knicks are not seeing Fisher as an expert Xs and Os coach, but rather as a preacher or motivator. In sense, some players of Knicks believe that they should have a coach that is a trained tactician in order to better their game performances and plays.

The belief of the players to their coach is very essential in a game or even in any sport for that matter. And with the case of the Knicks, if indeed true that the team is losing its belief with Fisher, then something should be changed.

The Knicks on their coaching staff do have assistant coaches Brian Keefe, Kurt Rambis and Jim Cleamons as a possible replacement. They have been dubbed as coaches who are well versed or expert game tacticians. But still the players may demand something more or someone who has accomplished something in the NBA.

According to a projected scenario of sircharlesincharge, the Knicks could try search for someone better in the market after this season. And as suggested by the report, Luke Walton, the Golden State Warriors interim-coach, could possibly be one of the candidate to replace Fisher.

However, even if Luke Walton is the one to replace Fisher as Knicks coach, doubt may still surround his presence. Others may still argue that his success with the Warriors is due to a talented team, and that his coaching ability has not been purely tested. But still it is too early to conclude, for rumors will remain as rumors unless actualized.
