Paris Real Estate: “The World’s Most Expensive Home” Paris Chateau was Sold for £200M

The Chateau Louis XIV in Paris is a 50,000-square-foot palace that Kim Kardashian considered sometime in 2013 to be their potential wedding location. The property is said to have been purchased by a Middle Eastern buyer who requested not to be named.

The vast mansion in Paris which was built from scratch in just three years has become the world's most expensive home after it was reported sold for £200 million or an equivalent to $275 million.

The 17th century-inspired home which is beautifully nestled between Versailles and Marly-le-Roi features indoor and outdoor pools, a squash court, a private cinema, two ballrooms and a night club.

The mansion has 10 bedroom suites, a library, a reception room that features a 52-foot high frescoed dome ceiling, a wine cellar that can store 3,000 bottles, and an underground "meditation room" with aquarium and huge sturgeon inside.

This huge estate once housed the Swiss Guards that protected Louis XIV, who paid tribute to France's Sun King.

The 23-hectare estate features a 1.2 mile maze with a replica of the Chateau de Versailles' fountain of Apollo.

With the employment of 200 people, Saudi developer Khashoggi spent three years to build the property that was completed in 2011.

As per the report of Telegraph news, the astronomical price of the property was sealed by Christie's International Realty.

This vast estate was purchased by a Middle Eastern buyer who wanted to remain anonymous.

The mansion features the only underground aquarium in Europe. The gardens with great feature of a gold leaf fountain have been beautifully designed as a tribute to Le Notre - the royal gardener under Louis XIV.

According to the report of Independent news the previous record for the most expensive home was held by a penthouse in London, which was sold for about $221 million in 2011.

Chateau Louis XIV is also well above Florida's $139 million 'Le Palais Royal', a 60,000 sq. ft. mansion modeled after Versailles - the most expensive home marketed in the US.
