Hulu just released the first images from the cult drama series "The Path" starring "Breaking Bad" actor Aaron Paul and "Hannibal"'s Hugh Dancy.
Entertainment Weekly reported that the streaming website Hulu has released new series photo featuring Paul, Dancy and "True Detective" actress Michelle Monaghan.
"The Path" follows a family who is currently in the middle of a controversial decision-making revolving marriage, power, and even relationships.
Since his award-winning stint on "Breaking Bad" as Jesse Pinkman, Paul plays the role of Eddie Lane. The character is described for "suffering a crisis of faith" and a recent convert who believes in The Meyerist Movement.
Dancy returns to the "psychological thriller" genre since the NBC's "Hannibal" with his role as Cal Roberts, the charismatic leader of the said cult group.
Meanwhile, Monaghan plays an "important figure" from the group as Sarah Lane. Her character and Paul's role share a teenage son named Hawk, who is played by Kyle Allen.
Other cast members are Amy Forsyth as Amy Fields, Sarah Jones as the defector Alison Kemp, Emma Greenwell as Mary Cox, Rockmond Dunbar as Detective Abe Gaines, Kathleen Turner as Brenda Roberts and Minka Kelly as Miranda Frank.
"The Path" was first ordered for 10 straight-to-series in March. In another article from Entertainment Weekly, the news was announced by Hulu’s Senior Vice President and Head of Content Craig Erwich.
“Jason Katims is responsible for the most groundbreaking shows about family seen through unique lenses,” Erwich said. “He and Jessica Goldberg have delivered a provocative take on a controversial, dangerous, and thrilling world.”
TV Line previously learned that the series was first named as "The Way" before they changed into "The Path." Hulu changed the name as it resembles the official name of The Way International, a real-life ministry.
“The Path” served as a reunion for showrunner Jessica Goldberg and executive producer Jason Katims. Goldberg served as a writer while Katims was the creator of the comedy series "Parenthood." True Jack Productions' Michelle Lee joins as an executive producer. It is produced under Universal Television.
