In the latest "Black Sails" update, the Starz series released a teaser trailer and an exclusive interview regarding Captain Flint's story.
According to Carter Matt, the pirate-themed TV series has unveiled several short snippets which contain several scenes from the upcoming season. The outlet shared that the network geared on getting new audiences from various ages with mostly PG-rated elements in some of their videos.
The series received a lot of hype when the network ordered for a second season even before the premiere of the first season in 2014. According to Coming Soon, "Black Sails" then got a two-season renewal again for Season 3 and 4 last year.
Starz managing director Carmi Zlotnik announced the renewal last October. She praised how Steinberg and Levin showcased the protagonist's journey and the other cast members.
“We think that season three will bring even more of the drama and lore that has made it a hit both in the U.S. and internationally,” Zlotnik said.
Created by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine, "Black Sails" stars Toby Stephens as Captain Flint who was known for being the most feared pirate of his time. "Black Sails" Season 3 will have the debut of Ray Stevenson as the iconic pirate named "Blackbeard."
In the official synopsis from Coming Soon, the third season will now pick up after Captain Flint started to become mad and it is up to John Silver to help him. Jack Rackham, on the other hand, will now act as the lead of the newly reformed Nassau. However, they will be bombarded by a new pirate that may start a war among themselves.
"Black Sails" stars Toby Stephens, Hannah New, Luke Arnold, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Tom Hopper, Zach McGowan, Toby Schmitz, Clara Paget, Mark Ryan, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Sean Cameron Michael, Louise Barnes, Rupert Penry-Jones, Luke Roberts and Ray Stevenson.
"Black Sails" Season 3 premieres on Jan. 3 while Season 4 will premiere on the same month next year.
