A Look Inside Taylor Swift’s NYC Home as ‘1989’ Hits Shelves

Taylor Swift, the "Love story" hitmaker, recently moved to New York City and she is so smitten by the Big Apple that she wrote an entire song on the city in her latest album "1989".

Swift's song "Welcome to New York" may have helped her become its new "Global Welcome Ambassador"; but while the song promotes a whole lot of the city, it also gives us a glimpse of the time when she just moved in into her great TriBeCa penthouse apartment earlier this year.

Part of the lyrics:

"When we first dropped our bags on apartment floors; Took our broken hearts and put them in a drawer; Everybody here was someone else before; And you can want who you want"

In March 2014, word of Swift snapping up the two residences that "Lord of the Rings" director Peter Jackson listed slipped out.

According to the listing records at StreetEasy, the property is a 5,650-square-foot unit comprising of six bedrooms and five full and one half bathrooms.

There is a grand foyer, more than 1,200 square feet of combined dining and living space, a stair hall and a wet bar.

The smaller unit is a 2,368-square-foot, three bedroom-two and a half bathroom apartment that comprises of a private roof terrace and brick-exposed interiors. Both the units have hardwood flooring, French doors and wood-beamed exposed ceilings.

But Swift wasn't just writing songs in her apartment. She invited over some select fans to listen to "1989" even before the album was out and treated them to personally baked cookies and treats.

Here's what one fan had to say about her apartment:

"It was beautiful - everything was very antique yet new. It looked like an Anthropologie store, but prettier."

"Taylor came down the stairs, and we all erupted into giant screams. She welcomed us and then she brought Karlie Kloss down and said that her friend wanted to say hello, but had to get ready to go to work," the fan added.

But most importantly, Swift is enjoying her time in New York City. The city's tourism department recently posted a video, where she explains all things New York to the viewer. Below is a picture of Swift on the rooftop of her apartment. The caption of the picture reads:

"Front Stoops #welcometonewYork"

While teasing the New York single, Swift said:

"New York was a huge landscape for what became this album. It's affected my life in ways I'm not even aware of fully."

"It's like an electric city and I approached moving there with such wide-eyed optimism. I saw (New York) as a place of endless potential and possibilities, and you can hear that reflected in this music and this first song especially."
