Saoirse Ronan Thanks Ryan Gosling for Teaching People How to Pronounce Her Name Correctly; Actress Happy With Golden Globe Nomination

It is not an easy name to pronounce but it doesn't mean she did not want it pronounced the right way either-that's Saoirse Ronan for you. Now, thanks to Ryan Gosling, people have started saying her name right.

The "Brooklyn" actress told People at the 2016 Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala on Saturday, Jan. 2, that no one could pronounce her Irish name ("Ser-sha") until the actor did something.

Gosling said, "It's Ser-sha, like inertia," when Presenting Ronan with the New Hollywood Award at the Hollywood Film Awards in November. After that, nobody says her name wrong again. At the same time, Gosling added that Ronan is one of the actresses he admires and it seems that the feeling is mutual.

She gushed, "Someone sent me a photo two weeks later of a cinema in Minnesota, and on the sign in the front it said "Brooklyn" and then underneath it said, 'Ser-sha, Like Inertia. I couldn't believe it! They actually put it on the front of the cinema, so the power of Ryan Gosling is stronger than anything else." She added, "He's like, Jesus or something, like a blond Canadian Jesus."

It can be recalled that during the Golden Globe announcements, Dennis Quaid pronounced her name wrong and called her "Sheesha," Daily Mail notes. The social media made a joke about it of course, recalling the equally famous mistake made by John Travolta when he mispronounced singer Idina Menzel's name during her Oscar's introduction in 2014 by saying "Adele Dazeem."

However, Ronan just seems happy that people are now calling her by the right name. She also that she learned about her nomination for Golden Globe - Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama while she was on a nail salon.

She told People, "I was in the nail salon getting my nails done and my phone kept dining, but I couldn't answer because my nails were wet. When I finally answered, I got the news. I told everyone at the salon. They were congratulating me, and we even popped champagne."
