Entertainment News: Native American Costume Party Pic of Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky were Slammed on Social Media

The Native American costume worn by Australian actor Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky for a party pic on New Year's Eve has offended a lot of fans on social media.

The picture of the couple and a group of their friends that was posted on Instagram early Thursday morning, had a caption saying that they attended a New Year's Eve party which had a theme of the Wild Wild West.

In the picture, the rest of the people who were all dressed as Native Americans and were smiling stood in front of a large background with a "Wanted" sign that posted a reward of $6,500.

The overall response about the photo posted on Instragram had mixed reactions from the followers and fans of Chris and Elsa.

Many have felt that the photo was disrespectful and commented how they were offended by it.

The negative reactions were repeated through the comments of many other followers and fans who thought they were offended by Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky's Instagram photo, as reported by Inquisitr news.

On the other hand, many who noticed the photo did not see anything wrong with it and slammed harsh critics, as they didn't take seriously the photo in the first place.

The couple didn't issue an official response to the negative comments regarding their controversial photo as of yet.

In the photo, Elsa wore a feathered headdress, while Chris fitted himself with a black wig and war paint.

Capital Bay news said that one Instragram follower of the couple directly commented at 32-year-old actor Chris, saying, 'Oh no Thor has gone and effed up with this cultural appropriation.'

Meanwhile, there were also fans that defended the couple on social media, insisting that the themed costume party was just a light-hearted social occasion with no intention of hurting one's culture.

One follower wrote, 'Themes make parties worth having!' While another has said, 'Try to ignore the hate here. You guys are having fun and no one is hurt by it.'
