The holiday season has ended with the beginning of yet another year. No one wants to have their homes be filled with left-over holiday decorations and gifts in the beginning of the year.
In a report from KETV 7, Home Depot supervisor Michael Novak said that they have the solution on how to put away your new gifts and holiday decorations.
"People get overwhelmed when things become complicated and that's usually when they decide to get organized next year," said Novak. "We take a part of our store and create it just for storage this time of the year, because it is so popular."
Home Depot has a wide variety of storage items to help you sort out your items. They have crates, bins, totes, and shelves that can be used to store your goods. Their storage products range from $2 to $400, depending on the capacity and material.
If you are on a tight budget after all the holiday spending, don't worry! There are a lot of Do-it-Yourself Storage tips that will only cost you your time and effort. Here are some of the DIY storage tips from Babble that you can use to tidy up your home.
1. Remember all the food cans you used during the holiday season? If you haven't thrown them away yet, you can simply wash them and turn them into containers for pens, pencils, and other stuff. You can also paint and decorate the food cans in order to blend in with the room.
2. Gift boxes of the presents you received during the holiday season can also be turned into an additional storage item. Just paint and decorate them and paste them sideways into the walls. Large boxes can be used to store your books, toys, game collections, and figurines.
3. Ribbons and yarns that are not used up can be stored in a pants hanging. This will also make you organized and can be excellent if you have future plans with the extra ribbons.
