With the BCS Championship Playoffs just around the corner, title-aspiring programs are already making their moves to secure a spot in the final four. On Saturday, no.3 Auburn and no.4 Ole Miss are heading into a pivotal clash at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium with the winner grabbing an upper-hand in the BCS Playoff race.
No.3 Auburn Tigers vs. No.4 Ole Miss Rebels (7:00 P.M EST on ESPN/ ESPN Watch Live Stream / Game Stats & Recap): There's going to be a gritty battle between two powerhouse programs, as Auburn and Ole Miss slaughter each other to keep their place in the BCS Playoff picture with just four or five games left in their schedule.
After absorbing their first loss of the season at the hands of Mississippi State 38-23, the Tigers roared back to contention with a 42-35 victory over South Carolina Gamecocks last week.
Senior quarterback Nick Marshall has already 1,143 passing yards with 11 touchdowns this season, while running back Cameron Artis-Payne (831 rushing yards on 151 carries with 6 touchdowns) is keeping that potent Auburn running game at its peak.
Meanwhile, the Rebels will attempt to bounce back after suffering their first loss of the season against the feisty LSU Tigers 10-7 two weeks ago. Ole Miss managed to score at least 23 points in each of their seven games until there were shut down by LSU's stifling defense.
Quarterback Bo Wallace has been sensational in his senior season, covering over 2,000 yards on 151 passes with 18 touchdowns. Running back Jaylen Walton has also run for 376 yards with four touchdowns. With all their offensive weapons, the key to victory for the Rebels will still be their top-notch defense that allows a nation best 10.5 points per outing.
Oregon Ducks vs. Stanford Cardinal (7:30 P.M on Fox Sports/ Fox Sports Extra Live Stream/ Game Recap & Stats): Pac-12 rivals Oregon and Stanford will duke it out again on Saturday at Autzen Stadium. With Auburn and Ole Miss trying to kill each other, no.5 Oregon will have a chance to move back into the playoff picture with a victory on Saturday.
