The Duchess Kate Middleton is now struggling to find her place as Queen Elizabeth's most favored in-law. The Queen is reportedly showing her fondness once again with Sophie Wessex, Prince Edward's wife, and the two ceaselessly enjoyed their time together in their royal holiday in Sandringham. This news apparently delivers a sad distraught over the Duchess of Cambridge who always tried her best efforts to make the Queen notice her.
"It has been noted that Queen Elizabeth and Countess Sophie send quite a bit of time together, more than ever during the Sandringham holiday. The Countess was given the honor of accompanying Queen Elizabeth in Her Majesty's private car service at Sandringham for Christmas."
"Palace insiders reveal that the Countess of Wessex and Queen Elizabeth enjoy an extremely close rapport. A royal aid confided, "[Countess Sophie] is trusted and relied upon in a way [that] couldn't be applied to the Duchess of Cambridge or the Duchess of Cornwall," according to Celebrity Dirty Laundry.
The Duchess of Wessex was always hailed as the most "favorite" of Queen Elizabeth even before Prince William married Kate Middleton. She was a trusted companion of the Queen in some matters in the Palace and even in some conversations about the Queen's "intimate thoughts."
Daily Mail reports that Wessex was the Queen's confidante after the passing of Princess Margaret and the death of Queen Mother in 2002.
"Most significantly - as the Queen approaches her 90th birthday this spring - the closer she becomes to Sophie, the more she depends on her. 'She talks to Sophie in the way she used to talk to Princess Margaret," according to a palace aide from the article of Daily Mail. "Sophie has filled a terrible gap in the Queen's life that was left when her sister and the Queen Mother died in 2002."
Meanwhile, it was speculated that the Queen is not yet solely trusting Duchess Kate due to her family. According to CDL, the Duchess of Cambridge implication to include her family in royal gatherings made the Queen distance herself to her.
