'Samsung TV' News, Details, Reports: 2016 'Samsung Smart TV' Will Come With IoT Support, Company Also Announced New Smart Remote

Samsung recently announced that their 2016 lineup of smart TVs will all feature IoT (Internet of Things) support and SmartThings platform integration. SmartThings is the open platform that allows for the management of smart devices and IoT services. To further elaborate, SmartThings allows people to manage, connect, and even control their IoT services and smart gadgets through their smartphones and SUHD TVs.

According to the tech giant Samsung, their upcoming SUHD TVs will all have the IoT hub tech so as to allow for smart home control.

These IoT ready televisions will be shown off during this year's CES that is happening in a few days' time, January 6 - 9 to be exact, in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, even though these TVs will have the SmartThings integrated at launch, the function will still need to be activated regionally as SmartThings continues to expand its availability.

On a related note, aside from the IoT support and SmartThings integration, Samsung has also announced that they have developed a new remote controller that can control all devices connected to Samsung's smart TVs. This controller is called the Smart Control Remote and it is a Tizen OS based device.

As per Samsung, this remote has the automatic source recognition functionality that allows for immediate recognition of Blu ray players, set-top-boxes, game consoles, OTT boxes, and other devices connected to the Samsung smart TV.

In addition to this, Samsung also announced the Smart Hub interface that allows users to switch between content seamlessly. This interface also allows you to find contents as well as arrange your most favorite ones on the home screen.

These new innovative Samsung devices and advances clearly aim to provide people a more convenient way to do and control things. It's undeniable how the company continues to develop groundbreaking technologies that make everything easier and quicker.
