Pacquiao vs Mayweather Fight News: Manny Pacquiao Not Using Floyd Mayweather to Market Bout Against Chris Algieri

Manny Pacquiao denied reports that he is using Floyd Mayweather's name to market his upcoming fight against Chris Algieri on Nov. 22 in Macau, China.

Pacquiao said in an interview with The Philippine Star that he is not interested in talking about a possible fight against Mayweather next year. The Filipino boxing champion said that he doesn't want Mayweather to think that he is using him to improve his pay-per-view numbers.

"I don't want to bring up Floyd's name because he might think I'm using him to market my fight against Algieri," Pacquiao said. "After the Algieri fight, then we can talk about Floyd or any other fighter. At the moment, my main and only focus is Algieri."

Recent reports indicated that the super fight will likely happen next year if Pacquiao wins against Algieri in their upcoming fight, but most analysts are still convinced that Mayweather will not agree to face "Pacman."

Timothy Bradley, who faced Pacquiao twice before and is also aiming to get a shot at Mayweather, said in a recent interview with On The Ropes Boxing Radio that he is unsure if the Pacquiao vs Mayweather showdown will happen.

"I think that's a fight that should happen but we don't know if it ever will happen," Bradley said. "I'm unsure right now, it hasn't happened in that last three or four years. If that fight was to materialize and Floyd was to win that fight, I think fans would definitely be a lot more pleased with what's going on."

But if the fight eventually happens next year, Bradley is convinced that the fight will be close one, contrary to what most people are thinking. The former world champion said that Pacquiao may have slowed down over the past years, but he still has the tools to give Mayweather a run for his money.

"I think he does well," Bradley said of Pacquiao. "I honestly think it goes well. I think that the fight is a little more even now. I'm gonna have to favor Floyd Mayweather because he's just brilliant in his boxing ability but you can't take anything away from Manny Pacquiao."
