BBC's "War and Peace" made the headlines after its first episode. Though it was reported that fans are slowly getting hooked, some viewers weren't quite pleased with the actors. As per Mirror, viewers wanted the show to have subtitles as they could not understand what the actors were talking about. It was reported that they are having a hard time hearing what the actors are mumbling.
"War and Peace" series was written by Andrew Davies, which focused on the life of Natasha, portrayed by Lily James. Price Andrei on the other hand was portrayed by James Norton. The rest of the cast includes Gillian Anderson as Anna and Paul Dano as Pierre.
"War and Peace" is BBC's latest hit series which is an adaptation on Leo Tolstoy's novel. The series hit the TV screens last Sunday and managed to capture the attention of its viewers.
Though the storyline did impress its audience; fans, including celebrities expressed their opinion on Twitter. Most of them loved the show, but they did however complain about the "War and Peace" actors' enunciation stating that they are "mumbling" their lines.
"Why on earth was the actor playing Pierre in War and Peace chosen as all he does is mumble? I can hardly understand a word he says," as per Lanice Mitchell's tweet.
Tom Bovington also posted a tweet asking the actors to enunciate.
"Loved War and Peace but had to switch the volume almost to maximum to hear dialogue." - Jennie Lee Cobban
Rebecca Tilley then added: "War and Peace - beautiful costumes and line up. Sadly I can't hear it very well at times. Keep turning the volume up and then down again."
Despite the fact that "War and Peace" gathered several negative feedbacks in terms of the actors' enunciation and speech, it was able to gather high ratings as they were able to hit the 6.7 million mark on their first episode.
