Joss Whedon, the man behind "The Avengers" have said his goodbyes to Marvel.
He has had great success with "The Avengers" and even S.H.I.E.L.D but he has still decided to break ties with Marvel. Cinema Blends reports that Whedon is no longer connected with Marvel or in creation of any of its shows in any capacity. This was clarified during a Q&A interview.
Whedon says, "I've gone off the reservation for a while. It was five years that I was working on either Avengers orS.H.I.E.L.D....That was an enormous gift they gave me; they handed me several hundreds of millions of dollars and said 'do what you do,' which is very rare and I was very lucky. At the same time, it's important for me not just to have my own thing and do something smaller, but also to create a new challenge for myself because I will start to repeat myself."
It seems that Whedon may have felt worn out due to the demand of his work with Marvel. He did not direct every Phase 2 film but his job was described as a showrunner, Cinama Blend continues. It means that he has had a lot of involvement. He was also not happy with the result of "Avengers: Age Of Ultron" as it was not as successful as its predecessor.
It seems that Whedon may want to take a good break and scale down on his job and perhaps consider not working for a major studio that does pay well but takes all his time all out, even though he gets a blank check in the process.
Whedon is also the man behind "Firefly" and "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and fans and supporters alike know he can create a masterpiece.
Meanwhile, according to Slash Film, Joe and Anthony Russo, will handle Phase Three of the film. They helmed "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," then returned for next year's "Captain America: Civil War," and once again on the two-part "Avengers: Infinity War," out in 2018 and 2020.
