"Downtown Abbey" is now airing its last season but before everything comes to an end, the show still has intense stories to offer.
In the premiere episode of season 6, Mrs. Hughes (Phyllis Logan) and Mr. Carson (Jim Carter) have declared their love for each other after having an awkward sex talk and now Mrs. Hughes is planning on a wedding date. According to International Business Times, someone will be involving herself in Mrs. Hughes' wedding plans but Mrs. Hughes will have to find a way to turn down her offer.
Meanwhile, the other servants are currently worried about their future as Barrow (Rob James-Collier) expressed his concerns about Robert's (Hugh Bonneville) plan to downsize. He thinks that he could be the first one to be let go as he gets a "hint" in episode 2. Although it wasn't' clear what kind of hint he got, does this mean that he should start packing his bags to leave?
Elsewhere, the official synopsis also reveals that Anna (Joanne Froggatt) will have a secret appointment and it is most likely with the doctor. It was reported that she will be seeing her doctor about her miscarriages and will try to find out if she will ever have children.
Cartermatt reported that "Downtown Abbey" season 6 episode 2 will feature another ghost from the past and this time it is tied with Edith (Laura Carmichael). According to the official synopsis for the next episode, Edith's visit to the Yew Tree Farm stirs trouble. Edith will be going with Marigold to Drewe farm where she was temporarily raised.
Meanwhile, it was also reported that Edith's grandmother will still try her best to fight for the hospital. It was said that Violet (Maggie Smith) and Isobel (Penelope Wilton) will be butting heads as they have different ideas for the future of the hospital.
"Downtown Abbey" season 6 episode 2 will air on Jan. 10.
