Taylor Swift '1989' Songs, Lyrics & Download: Singer Announces World Tour Dates, Skips NYC Visit

Country-turned-pop singer Taylor Swift has announced the schedule for her "1989" World Tour. Swift's newest album is doing spectacularly well selling and to keep the momentum going, the 24-year-old singing sensation announced the dates of her World Tour which kicks off May 20 in Bossier City, La.

The tour will travel to five countries for five months and end Halloween next year in Tampa, FL. However, one notable city left out of the list is none-other-than New York City, Swift's hometown.

According to Hollywood Life, the singer may have a surprise in store regarding the tour to be announced on New Year's Eve.

"Taylor will definitely add more dates. She wants to start with a limited amount of dates in order to sell out faster. It makes her look better when things sell out fast. NYC dates are a guarantee and will be revealed at a later date," said a source to Hollywood Life.

"It's a possible that she'll announce the extra tour dates with Ryan Seacrest. She wants to make a splash on NYE and have everyone spend their Christmas money on her tour, when she announces more dates. It's all calculated," added the source.

The "Shake it Off" singer will be joined by Australian Vance Joy and Canadian Shawn Mendes while on the road.

According to the performer's website, American Express® customers and those registered in the singer's e-mail list will enjoy ticket purchase options ahead of general public sales.

Pre-sales for European shows start on November 4. Pre-sales for North America shows start on November 7.
