'Samsung Galaxy S7' News, Specs, Update: There May Be A Snapdragon 820 SoC Variant With Adreno 530 GPU

The New Year has just passed and 2016 wants to say hi with more "Samsung Galaxy S7" rumors. The last thing we have heard is that the next Samsung flagship will come in four variants, that is the S7 with the S7 Edge, and the S7+ with the S7 Edge+. The Plus phones will be six inch in size while the basic S7 will be 5.1" and the S7 Edge will be 5.5 inch in size.

If that is not enough to confuse you, there have also been additional talks about which one gets what internal specs.

One recently leaked photo claims to put light on questions about the Samsung Galaxy S7's hardware specs. The said photo lists the specs of a certain Samsung SM G93. It is a single screenshot but it does list quite a few details about the said smartphone. For starters, we know that the phone comes with a 5.7 inch screen that has a QHD resolution. Also, the photo said that the phone will come with Adreno 530 GPU, which leads to a new chip expectation of a Snapdragon 820. We used to expect an Exynos 8 Octa 8890 chip and a Mali T880MP12 GPU, but since the leaked photo lists an Adreno 530 GPU, maybe one S7 variant will indeed come with Snapdragon chip instead of Exynos.

The main camera should have a 12.2 MP sensor, which could be disappointing if we compare it to the 16 MP rear cam of the "Samsung Galaxy S6", that is if we were not previously informed about the possibility of Samsung using a new camera technology - BRITECELL. This is an ambitious tech that should improve low light photo captures as it cuts down the resolution and uses a massive ½" sensor size which should lead to larger pixels.

As exciting as these may sound, no official announcements back this up. We can only hope that official information will be released soon. And as per recent rumors, the "Samsung Galaxy S7" could be released as early as late February.
