Pokémon Shuffle News: Mega Swampert Competition Will Run From Jan. 5 to 12; Prizes Revealed

Avid fans and die-hard gamers of "Pokémon Shuffle" will be able to play a new competition in the game. This is after game developer Genius Sonority released an update to the popular free-to-play Nintendo 3DS game. The "Mega Water Pokémon" competition features Mega Swampert as the prize, a report from iDigital Times said on Wednesday.

According to the report, the game's "Mega Water Pokémon" commenced on Jan. 5 and will last until Jan. 12. It was said that the competition will end on the same day as Talonflame and the fifth Safari Zone.

"The Mega Swampert stage is a timed competition so you'll want to bring in the strongest Pokémon you have that are either electric or grass types. Shaymin and Thunderous are good choices as their high base powers help. As for the Mega Pokémon slot, Mega Ampharos or Mega Manectric may be optimal as their abilities destroy the blocks and barrier disruptions. Mega Venusaur is also another choice but it's ability doesn't eliminate the disruptions as well as Ampharos and Manectric," the report said.

Listed below are the various places and prizes that are featured in the game's "Mega Swampert" competition in the U.S, according to the report.

  • 1-3,600 Swampertite and Mega Speedup
  • 3,601-18,000 Swampertite
  • 18,001-24,000 Attack Power Up and Disruption Delay
  • 24,001 and Below Jewel
  • For Europe, here are the standings you'll need to place in:
  • 1-2,300 Swampertite and Mega Speedup
  • 2,301-12,000 Swampertite
  • 12,001-16,000 Attack Power Up and Disruption Delay
  • 16,001 and Below Jewel
  • And for Japan:
  • 1-10,000 Swampertite and Mega Speedup
  • 10,001-50,000 Swampertite
  • 50,001-70,000 Attack Power Up and Disruption Delay
  • 70,001 and Below Jewel

"To get it, you will need to place in the top 12,000 in Europe, 18,000 in North America or 50,000 in Japan. You will get a Mega Speedup on top of that if you place in the top 2,300 in Europe, 3,600 in North America or 10,000 in Japan. Placing in the top 16,000 in Europe, 24,000 in North America or 70,000 in Japan means you miss the Swampertite, but instead you'll get an Attack Power Up and Disruption Delay. If you place outside those ranks, you get a Jewel instead," Nintendo Of Everything said.
