An MMA star and an Olympic medalist, now a "Saturday Night Live" host this month-what can Ronda Rousey not do?
The show made the announcement of Rousey's hosting stint on Tuesday, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Rousey will be making her SNL debut together with another first-timer Selena Gomez who will be the evening's musical guest. The former has been very busy lately as she will also be starring in the upcoming reboot of "Road House." Previously, she also appeared in "Fast and Furious 7" and "Entourage."
"Saturday Night Live" will return on Jan. 16 at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC. with the show's host Adam Driver, fresh from his "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" days and Chris Stapleton, which is his SNL debut, as the musical guest. Stapleton's new album "Traveller" peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Rousey's episode will be aired on Jan. 23.
Meanwhile, it seems that the former UFC Champion is still rather sad about her loss to Holly Holm, which, according to Rousey's sister, has left her "soul crushed," Washington Post reports.
Rousey mader her presence in the social media felt again on her first post this year and it seems that she is still melancholy. Is she jealous of all the attention Holm has been receiving since the stunning knockout win at the UFC 193? We cannot be certain but she posted one of Shakespeare's lines on Instragram, "I was adored once too."
It does seem that Rousey is still dealing with the loss big time. It can be recalled that in a lengthy December profile of her made by ESPN the Magazine, she said, "I'm just really f*****g sad." She added, "I need to come back. I need to beat this chick. Who knows if I'm going to pop my teeth out or break my jaw or rip my lip open. I have to f*****g do it."
