NBA Rumors: Knicks Dropped Brandon Jennings Trade Rumor; Jennings Was Not Impressive, Tony Wroten Being Targeted

One of the NBA teams that have been speculated to have a great potential this year is the New York Knicks. However, they are scrambling to have consistency with their games, especially the lack of backcourt strength. That is why, despite having Carmelo Anthony on their line-up it was speculated that the Knick will acquire Brandon Jennings. However, such rumor seems to be short lived, for the Knicks is now being rumored to pursue Tony Wroten instead of Jennings.

There were many reports that the Knicks will surely strengthen their backcourt in order to compensate with their frontcourt strength emphasized by the presence of rookie player Porzingis. There were many names involved in the said possible trade transactions, and one of which was Jennings of the Detroit Pistons. However, according to Ian Begley of ESPN, the 26 year old veteran point guard fell short in impressing the Knicks with his performance on their previous game.

And in order to answer their problem with the backcourt force, the Knicks would have to sign former Philadelphia 76ers as what Movie News Guide opined. The Knicks is definitely in a rebuilding stage, with the possible exit of Carmelo Anthony, the Knicks would surely be in need of players with promising talents whom they can develop. And Tony Wroten could possibly be the player that the Knicks need.

Such possibility of having Wroten in the line-up is justified by the fact that the 76ers just recently released from their roster Wroten. And with the attention given to him by other teams, the Knicks could somehow dive in with them and acquire a long term guard who they can develop together with center player Porzingis in the coming seasons of the franchise. However, there are still no confirmation that the deal will be possible, but based on some insider reports, the Knicks would likely try Wroten as their point guard.
