‘Final Fantasy 15’ Characters & Update: Game Director Says Title Will Feature More Female Characters

"Final Fantasy 15" game director Hajime Tabata has shared that Square Enix's popular video game will feature a range of female characters. According to him, these new female characters will have a deeper role than the usual "love interests" of the game's main cast, a report from Gamespot said.

According to the report, the inclusion of female characters in the game is expected to enhance its storyline since the characters will play essential roles.

"There are quite a lot of female characters the guys will meet along the road they take and they really enhance the story, and perform a lot of different roles in the story. Not just as love interests, but other ways as the story progresses," Tabata said in an interview with The Examiner.

However, Tabata did not elaborate the extent the roles or involvement of the female characters in the "Final Fantasy 15." In the same interview, he also confirmed that avid fans can expect both protagonist and antagonist female characters. "There will be a number of powerful female characters on the enemy side as well," he said in the interview.

It can be recalled that the game developer Square Enix introduced a female character named "Cindy" back in April 2015. The inclusion of the aforementioned character has sparked animated discussions from fans, who claimed that the character was "too sexy."

"She's actually not meant to be an erotic character. Her character is very energetic and outgoing, a very active character. With those traits paired with her appearance, we feel it wouldn't be too problematic even if, say, she shows up on the screen while your parents are in the living room. She is a very cheerful and active character, I don't think we want to change the current concept," Tabata said.

"Final Fantasy XV" is slated to be launched this year for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
