'The Royals' Renewed For Season 3, Long Live The Queen!

Long live the Queen! "The Royals" will be renewed for the third season. The series stars Elizabeth Hurley as Queen Helena. E! Online reported that its hit series has been renewed for a 10-episode third season.

Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President of Original Programming & Development said in a statement that "We are incredibly proud of the success of The Royals."

Olde added that "The series has captured fans and brought them into a regal world of sexy, fun drama. We can't wait to see what season three will bring and what surprises are still in store as we enter the second half of season two."

Everyone seems to be ecstatic by the good news. Kevin Beggs, the Chairman of Lionsgate Television Group, said that "We are delighted by today's pick-up announcement for season three of The Royals."

Beggs also said that the show was able to reflect the "kind of original, noisy and provocative series that is a Lionsgate signature." He then added, "We look forward to an all-new season of palace intrigue and badly behaved royals with our partners at E! and Universal Cable Productions."

According to a website named TVbytheNumbers, the renewal announcement was two weeks ahead of the show's second season finale. The ratings of the show played a big role for its renewal. Even though the show experienced a decline with its ratings in the current still, it was able to rise up again. Reportedly, "The Royals" average viewer per episode is over 1 million. "The Royals" huge success came as no surprise to its fans and viewers.

"The Royals" is surrounded by great cast that includes Hurley, William Moseley as Prince Liam, Alexandra Park as Princess Eleanor, Tom Austen the Prince's bodyguard Jasper Frost, Oliver Milburn as head of the royal security and Jake Maskall as the newly crowned King Cyrus.

"The Royals" airs on Sunday at 10 p.m. on E!
