Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach from the Philippines is the sole winner of the prestigious pageant despite the controversial mix-up during the coronation night. Along with the much coveted title comes a number of perks including a year-long salary as Miss Universe, a year-worth scholarship from the New York Film Academy of Visual Performing Arts, one year supply of beauty and skin care products from world class beauty brands, free access to a fitness center and a beauty salon, access to VIP events, and the opportunity to travel the world to represent the organization. Another major perk is an accommodation in New York City, which she has recently showed in an interview.
In the interview, Pia gave a quick tour of her NYC home. In the living room, there are a couple of huge couches, and a bold red wall serves as an accent to the otherwise plain area.
Perhaps the best part of the apartment is the view of 5th avenue. The living room's huge windows allow the beauty queen to look at the skyscrapers of the Big Apple.
There are at least 2 more rooms aside from her bedroom. She probably needs the space for all the clothes and shoes she got as the reigning queen.
Pia was excited to show the compact kitchen, and she reveals that she studied culinary in college. She shares, "I don't really have the time to cook although I'm a culinary graduate and I love to cook and I also love to eat."
On the official Miss Universe Facebook page, Pia posted a picture of herself cooking in the same kitchen. In the photo, the Filipina beauty was holding a pot on top of a stove, and it bore the caption: "It's my first time cooking in my New York apartment. I'm so happy to finally be having a home-cooked meal. -Pia"
Fans were happy to know that Pia was finally having her home cooked meal, but they certainly weren't happy about the seemingly old and rusty pots and pans in the kitchen. One of the netizens commented, "My goodness you are Miss Universe and that's the kitchen you have? You'd figure you would have state of the art appliances, beautiful granite countertops. It's sad that an organization as wealthy doesn't offer their reigning Queens more plush surroundings. Anyway, enjoy your year."
