Interior Design 2016: What’s in for This New Year

Every year there will always be some changes, be it your personal life or in the world around you. Now that 2016 is already here, it is never too late to change, especially the things that can be easily changed and be updated. You might want to try changing or updating some of your home decors so that it would fit in with what is in this 2016.

The Wall Street Journal and other décor sites recently had some consultations with top interior designers to judge and suggest what would likely to trend this 2016. And here below are some suggestions you might want to check or even apply to your own interior design at home.

Black Metal Power

If you have been accustomed to buying appliances, you might have noticed that every now and then their colour changes depending on the year. And this time around, it is being suggested that black stainless still will dominate the market, out would be the polished stainless steels and gleaming silver appliances.

Curvatures

Round tables and other curvy decorations would likely invade the market this year. As a form of furnishing, radial and bullnose edges will make some appearance in the interior designing world this 2016, notably on the marble materials. As to the words of Glenn Lawson of Lawson Fenning in Los Angeles via WSJ, "Who doesn't want to rub their hands along a smooth, rounded piece of marble? Touch is essential to design."

Mismatching

Contrary to the idea of harmony, this year would likewise be year of experiments. Elledecor suggested that there might be nothing wrong with having matched colours in the kitchen. However, it would also be nice to risk and pair "different cabinet style together."

Now there are many ways to improve your home's interior design. However, you should also put in mind the budget that comes along with all the updates and changes at home. There is no need to buy new stuff or even add unnecessary object just for the sake of being in this 2016. Above overall design, for a practical individual, comfort and convenience should be on top of the list.
