Summit's Real Estate Agent In Nelson New Zealand Bankrupted For Misappropriation

Looking at it from a general perspective, the real estate sector seems promising at best and realtors, agents and developers alive wait with bated breath as to how things will unfold in the coming months.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, which is New Zealand, a real estate agent named Carolina Wiseman, formerly known as Nina Carrington, has left Nelson region's biggest real estate business, Summit.

Wiseman, according to Stuff NZ, moved to Nelson to start over and did have a promising year in the business but it has been interrupted when her past caught up with her. She has been doing well and in fact been prominently featured in Summit's promotional campaign. Now, all reference to her has been removed from their website.

Four years ago, the court of New South Wales determined that Wiseman misappropriated a sum of more than $394,000 that belonged to her employer, Ken Gudmundsen She has transferred the funds in the spun of 25 months. This information was revealed mid-December.

Gudmundsen used a private investigator to track her down and has successfully applied to the High Court of Nelson to have her declared bankrupt and the decision was made Dec. 4.

She said that she left Summit after "a discussion" and added that "still considering what she is going to do." She did not provide any further comments. She also said that the reason she changed her name legally was the "horrible" and "damning" things written about her in a newspape in Lismore.

Summit director Allister Nalder said way back in December that he has confirmed with the government regulatory body, the Real Estate Agents Authority (REAA) that bankrupted person could be an agent but the decision they have made regarding Wiseman is for the  "interest of our clients."

Nalder said that he wished Wiseman all the best as she is seeking an appeal in Australia. "In reality, we've just given Carolina some time to see if she can be successful with an appeal in Australia."

Wiseman's license has been handed back to REAA who would be "making their own decision on the side of things." They do not return until Jan. 11.
