Local Vancouver Real Estate Group Is Worried Media Is Scaring Home Buyers Away

Are you a homebuyer thinking of investing in properties in Metro Vancouver? Are you feeling apprehensive in investing in housing markets in the area because of high prices? Have you ever felt that online sites and market reports are giving you a grim picture of the Vancouver market? A local real estate group from Vancouver fears that the media may be scaring away potential home buyers, an article from News1130 revealed.

The group recommends that before you react negatively; try to do your own research. You may be surprised that you will reconsider once you do.

Darcy McLeod from the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver said, "There are a lot of people out there that are probably frightened away by what they hear in the media or read in the papers or online about the big numbers that are showing up for average prices but when you do break it down by neighborhood, which most people don't either take the opportunity or have the opportunity to do, you're not getting the real picture," she explained. "And makes them feel like what's the point in even looking, well the point of even looking is that real estate is a fantastic investment still."

The Vancouver realty expert said that you should watch out for words such as "overheated, over-inflated and million" since these are words that trigger negative emotions from buyers. They usually realize that they can't afford to live in the area.

"There's still value out there in the marketplace and there's opportunities for buyers," McLeod further said.

Smart home buyers should remain steadfast in looking for the right properties. There are a lot of potential and affordable ones in Vancouver, you just need to look harder and do your own research to find the best home that will suit you.
