Celebrity Real Estate: Here's a Sneak Peek Inside the Glorious Paris Apartment of Coco Chanel

A fashion insider, Shiona Turini, had a tour of the Paris apartment of the famed fashion designer Coco Chanel at 31 Rue Cambon, which is also located above her studio.

The apartment has great features of beautiful pieces, like a crystal chandelier with letter Cs and number fives, a beautifully designed quilted coach that was inspired by the brand's quilted bags, leather bound books, embellished screens, and tons of pretty glass.

After the tour, some might want the apartment of Coco Chanel even more than most people would of any of her clothes, reported Luxury Listings NYC.

Coco Chanel, along with Laura Bailey and Sam Taylor-Johnson, discussed their personal experiences of spending time in the apartment of Coco Chanel, with the photographs of the apartment taken by Taylor-Johnson.

The photographs taken by Taylor-Johnson were on display in an exhibition entitled Second Floor at London's Saatchi Gallery, while a book by the same person was also available for purchase.

Five years ago, Taylor-Johnson first stepped into the Rue Cambon apartment of Coco Chanel to photograph the legendary space, but those photographs were never included in the exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery.

Vogue news reported that Taylor-Johnson was to take a series of images for the biography of Coco Chanel with some uncertainty. "I went into it thinking, 'What am I doing? I'm not that interested in photographing inanimate objects'," Taylor-Johnson said in a tour of the exhibit.

"The light is so perfect there - it was so majestic and magical," she explained.

The project was seen by Chanel creative director, Karl Lagerfeld, who saw the images and suggested that the photographs should be featured in a tome of their own.

"This is my first exhibition of work for five years - it was quite strange to come out in this way and do something so different from my normal work," Taylor-Johnson said. She also stressed that she enjoyed the long, "quiet process" of developing the exhibition, in comparison to working on films.
