Star Wars Location You Can Visit in California

Still having that "Star Wars" fever and cravings? The holidays may be over but still, you can go pack your bag and set a trip to these "Star Wars" location you can actually visit in California, USA. How does that sound for a weekend out?

Death Valley National Park

Death Valley National Park is where Jabba the Hutt's palace in "Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi" was located. It served as planet Tatooine, Luke Skywalker's home. It also featured Obi-Wan, R2-D2, and C-3PO in "Star Wars Episode IV." Admission is $20.

Plus, visitors can stay at Panamint Springs Resort which is inside the Death Valley National Park for $99 per night minimum. They get to see Badwater Basin and the nearby Panamint Mountains as seen from Dante's view.

Redwood National Park

Redwood National Park served as a location for the Ewok's home of Endor in "Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi." This is also where some chase scenes' background sceneries were filmed, in Owen R Cheatham Grove in Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park and Smith River. It was the location of the battle involving rebels, taking down Death Star shields. Admission is free.

Yuma Desert

According to OLV, "Return of the Jedi" budget constraints led to the decisions to film some desert scenes in Buttercup Valley in Yuma Desert in California instead of going back to Tunisia. It was used for the Great Pit of Carkoon on the Dune Sea, in which Jabba tried to throw the rebels. Most of the crew stayed in nearby Yuma, AZ during the filming in spring 1982.

Buttercup Valley is part of the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreational Area. Admission is $50 per week.

Legoland California

Fans can take a look into "Star Wars" Miniland at Legoland California and view the entire "Star Wars" movie scenes. They get to stand next to their favorite "Star Wars" characters which are only 3 feet tall. The movie scenes and the characters are made of Lego blocks. Park admission starts at $78.
