Real Estate Photography Dos and Don'ts

Presenting the house you are selling through photos is very critical as it could attract potential buyers, or it could be the reason why they would want to keep on looking. Sell your homes quickly by considering the following dos and don'ts when taking listing pictures.

Make sure you have a couple of pictures the whole property, or at least the entire façade of the house, without any cars or objects that are not really part of what you are selling. Be careful of your camera's angle when you are taking the shots, as he roof line should be aligned with the frame. Otherwise you are creating the illusion that there is a landslide on the property.

Consider using a camera drone so you could photograph your home from a bird's eye view. This is especially ideal for properties with lush outdoors or a spacious backyard. You may also experiment on a panoramic view camera, but do not make use of the fish-eye lens features especially with indoor shots as this could make the space look distorted.

It is advisable to stage each room and highlight each room's selling points, but make sure you do not overdo it. Add accents like fresh greens or flowers to the living room, or on your kitchen island. Avoid taking a picture of your 'very busy' kitchen as this could just look like a big mess.

Maximize your home's selling points by showing off the view or the backdrop. If your house has a stunning sunset or sunrise view, then make sure you capture it on that specific time of the day. Is your house surrounded by lush greens, and looks amazing in summer or spring? Through photographing your home you will be able to share with your potential buyers that they too could enjoy looking at these wonderful views.
