The Pantone Color Institute has released the colors for this year with pastels Rose Quartz and Serenity, and here are some tips on how one can incorporate them in home decorations.
Los Angeles Times listed several ways on how one can incorporate the relaxing pastel colors which will make any home more beautiful. In several interviews with noted interior designers, they revealed that these soft hues can be used as accents to refresh a room.
West Hollywood interior designer Natasha Baradaran said that the pastel colors can act as neutrals, while paint and color expert Annie Sloan said that it is best to pair these soft colors with strong ones like bright orange for those who like a modern retro look. Meanwhile, interior designer Kirill Istomin said that the colors are best paired with bright white, black or brown.
For those who are not into renovating, these colors can also be incorporated with some decorations and things at home. In an interview with interior designer Dixie Mosely by Tulsa World, she suggested that many retail catalogs which offer beddings and home wares offer products which are in Rose Quartz and Serenity. She added that these colors can be used as accents in different forms, and these include furniture and rugs. She explained that rugs can serve as a base to build a color scheme for a certain area in the house. It is best to use rugs with patterns to provide texture while the other colors create a certain contrast.
Throw pillows with one's favorite colors and patterns can also be used to redo the look of any room, may it be the bedroom or the living area. These colors can also be added to furniture like chairs and couches, just to add a little bit of drama in the room.
