2016 Home Trends to Watch Out For

Home trends for 2016 are filled with vibrant colors and bursting with personality. The Domain website came up with a compilation on what the latest come design trends are and how they would suit your style.

A touch of nature will make its way in most homes as house plants and flower pots would make their way indoors this year. Most homes would have herb pots added in their kitchen counters and desert plants would rest on the coffee tables. Emir Lopez from Fluid Growers shared that this year, herbs and spices would not only look good as an accessory but it would serve as an interactive accessory as well, "We all long to be connected back to nature and back to food, and to learn and teach our children where food really comes from."

As of 2016, metallic pieces will in as per interior designer, Emma Blomfiel. She then stated that one does not have to over spend in order for you to achieve the metallic trend as minimal pieces would do,

"From acid wash metallic cow hide rugs to brass cylindrical vases for your flowers through to brushed brass side tables, there aren't many homewares or interiors products that don't work well in metallic tones, metallics should be considered the jewellery for your home with things like drawer handles and copper catchalls through to candle jars."

Elle Décor then added that "tech-less" living room will make a breakthrough this year as more families would opt to go for a tech free bonding.

As for the Zillow website on the other hand, there are several things that needs to be left on the 2015 tab. First on the list are the mason jars. Chalkboards are only advisable to those with neat hand writings, it was also stated that it's trend "isn't built to last in 2016."
